Overview

Angora Rabbits

Angora wool comes from Angora rabbits. Their fine wool can be spun into luxurious soft yarn which is warmer than sheep wool. These are the breeds of Angora rabbits: German, giant, French, satin and English. We raise English Angoras. Being around 6-7 pounds, they are the smallest of the Angora breeds and they have the softest wool. While the other three Angora breeds have clean faces, the English Angora has wool all over which makes it appear to be a big round ball of fluff. It is also probably the breed with the sweetest temperament, making them fun to cuddle and have as pets.  We sell our rabbits  as we have them available.   See: English Angora Rabbits

Angora Goats

Mohair comes from Angora goats. The Angora is a small, sweet breed of goat whose long curly locks can be spun into a soft durable, non-shrinking yarn with a beautiful sheen. There are purebred, registered Angora goats and commercial, non-registered Angora goats which have some cross-breeding in their background. We have both purebred and commercial Angoras. They have been selected for their sweet temperament, fineness of fiber and tightness of curl. Unlike their fellow breeds they are small and easier to contain.  We now have commercial and registered goats for sale. See: Angora Goats

Spinning Wool

Fiberl is harvested twice a year from both our Angora rabbits and Angora goats. The rabbit’s wool is hand collected and the goat mohair is shorn. Both of these fibers have beautiful qualities unique to each. Our fiber animals are specially selected for their fiber fineness of texture, length of staple and crimp.  We sell both kinds of fiber as we have it available.  See: Hand Spinning Fiber
