ANGORA GOATS
About Our Herd
We have loved our Angora
goat herd - it is such a peaceful scene in the evenings. They are curious but shy; teasing us into
thinking that they might like to be our pets.
Each has their own name, personality, and voice - such little cuties
when they are born. Caring for the goats
is an individual, amusing dimension in our lives. Our small herd consists of white
commercial Angora goats. We are needing to
sell the remaining goats as after all these years I have developed an allergy
to their raw fiber.
Many breeders are going for larger sized Angora goats and more poundage per fleece. Our preferences tend toward the smaller sized
animal with a fine fibered coat. Fine fiber mohair naturally weighs less than
courser fiber. If it isn't great fiber
to spin it's worthless to me no matter how many pounds there are. The price one
is able to sell their mohair for also depends on its fineness.
We have some members of our Angora goat herd for
sale “to a good home”.
